Drone Roof Measurement: Cost, Accuracy and Process
What € 99 covers, where the accuracy comes from, and when a manual measurement is still the better choice.
What does a drone roof measurement cost?
A drone roof measurement starts at € 99 for a standard single-family roof in Styria. Included are the flight, a scaled orthophoto and a PDF report with areas, lengths and slopes for one building. Complex roofs, multiple buildings or a DXF export are quoted individually.
How accurate is it?
Capture uses RTK positioning, giving centimetre-level accuracy under normal conditions. From the aerial images we produce a georeferenced, annotated orthophoto, from which areas, lengths and roof slopes are derived.
How does the process work?
- Enquiry with property address and desired output format
- RTK flight planning and appointment
- On-site drone flight over the roof, no roof access needed
- Orthophoto and PDF report within 24 to 48 hours
What is the result suitable for – and what not?
The data is a photogrammetric basis for quotes, PV planning and material costing. It does not replace an official cadastral or boundary survey by a licensed surveyor – if one is required, a conventional survey is still needed.
